Mattel Creations is launching pre-orders for their latest entry to the Hammond Collection on November 9th! The packaging recreates the lab from the first film with many of the features being from cardboard as part of the packaging. I would have loved to see the egg incubator being a real part – in fact the quality overall is a bit concerning. I do love Mr. DNA though.

Quality Issues

On the left side of this image we have the $30 Dr. Henry Wu collection and on the right we have the $15 John Hammond from SDCC in 2019! One thing to consider is the Lab set does also include the Mr. DNA figure, so I’m OK with the $30 price tag IF the set had even close to the same tier of quality.

The Raptor: This one is the most staggering, the Hammon raptor is highly detailed with an excellent paint job. Wu’s raptor … not so much.

The Incubator: While the raptor is the most staggering, the incubator may be the most puzzling. They already have the model and molding for the high quality incubator but opted to save money.

Accessories: Hammon had a highly detailed cane with his amber topper. Wu gets a clipboard that looks like a 2 year old took a red marker to it?
