For long-time fans of the franchise, this could be the game we’ve been waiting on for years! The survival genre is perfectly suited for the Jurassic universe, but it has been a genre that hasn’t fared well for Jurassic fans. In 1998 we got the beloved but very quirky Jurassic Park: Trespasser. In 2001 we expected to get another game called Jurassic Park: Survival but this was ultimately cancelled. We had glimmers of hope surrounding the release of the Jurassic World trilogy with on and off rumors that a Jurassic World: Survivor game would be released. At one point the game was even tied to Cryptic Studios but this studio was closed and the hope for a new game died with it. We did eventually get Jurassic World: Aftermath in 2020 with was a VR based survival game.

We now have reason for hope once again with the announcement of Jurassic Park: Survival! Currently we don’t know much with most of the trailer being pre-rendered. There is some gameplay featured at the very end of the trailer so it looks like they’ve at least are far enough into development to have a partially playable game. The game will launch on PC, Xbox Series consoles, and the Sony PS5. Stay tuned for more information!
