Details have begun to emerge about a possible upcoming Lego set titled Jurassic Park T-Rex Rampage. At this time there is no way to verify whether this set is real or not but it is suppossed to be made up of 3,120 pieces and feature a MSRP of $249.99!
The Front of the set shows that this set comes with Ian Malcom, Ray Arnold, John Hammond, Ellie Sattler, Alan Grant and Dennis Nedry as well as the pieces to build the T-Rex itself. In the background we see the iconic Jurassic Park gates.
The back of the box shows the gate actually has 6 small openings that feature different scenes from the original movie. Some of these scenes make sense for the rumored character, while other just seem out of place. For exacmple on the right side on the third opening from the bottom, we see an opening featuring the toilet. Oddly enough Donald Gennaro is missing from the set so the toilet just seems weird to include. Sure it is one of the iconic scenes from the movie but it would be much better if Gennaro was also included.
I was very excited when I first heard the rumor that there was a new lego set coming that featured that gate. While the T-Rex does look cool, the gate itself is somewhat disappointing. I will hold out on my final judgement until higher quality images arrive than these orignal leaks. However, a set like a fan imagined for the 25th Anniversary would have been a better bet in my mind.
