Jurassic World Miniature Game at Gencon 2019! (Part #1)

Last weekend I headed to Gencon to check out a couple games including the Jurassic World Tabletop game by Exod Games! I didn’t really learn anything new about the game but I did get some hands-on time with some of the primary figures and cards. It looks like the cards are still in early development and it’s important to note that the dinosaur models are just prototypes so we could see quality difference between now and the release.

The T-Rex

With the T-Rex all Exod had on display was their wonderfully painted model. I was hoping to see the character board in person as well as checking out the cards for the Rex to get an idea of how she would play, but alas that was not the case. The Rex game board was shown in the Kickstarter campaign so we do know her stats.

  • Movement: 1
  • Melee Attack: 3
  • Armor (Front): 3
  • Armor (Sides & Rear): 2
  • Dodge: 1
  • Strength: 6
  • Fear: 4
  • Health: 12

The Carnotaurus

The Carnotaurus model looks great too. If the final models feature the same level of detail I think we’ll be very happy with this part of the game!

It appears the Carno also as the ability to ignore fear and 1 point of armor.

  • Movement: 1
  • Melee Attack: 2
  • Armor (Front): 2
  • Armor (Sides & Rear): 1
  • Dodge: 2
  • Strength: 4
  • Health: 8

Roland Tembo

Roland looks to be an exciting character to play and will be quite powerful as a ranged character. In comparison to the generic mercenaries he has two additional points in aim, range and damage!

The human figures are quite small in comparison to the dinosaurs as could be expected. This does mean we lose a lot of detail in the model though.

  • Movement: 1
  • Melee Attack: 1
  • Dodge: 2
  • Strength: 1
  • Unknown Stat: 4
  • Health: 3
  • Ranged Attack
    • Aim: 4
    • Range: 6
    • Damage: 3

Owen Grady

As was the trend for most of the characters, Owen didn’t have any cards available to look at. It will be interesting if he is able to give Blue and the other raptors commands. His game board features the Adventurers faction like Roland but also features a special icon.

  • Movement: 1
  • Melee Attack: 1
  • Dodge: 2
  • Strength: 1
  • Unknown Stat: 4
  • Health: 4
  • Ranged Attack
    • Aim: 2
    • Range: 5
    • Damage: 2

Additional Pictures

The Trike and Raptors will be featured in Part 2 as their whole game board was at the show. With these two characters we got to see not only the miniature and game board but also their action cards, so I have a lot of editing to due to compile all the information. I also had some pictures of some smaller models like Stiggy and some decor pieces. Enjoy the remaining pictures and keep and eye out for part 2 in the next day or two.
